About Us
In 2002, a small group of people with a huge love of the Golden breed and
a desire to help the unwanted Goldens in our area formed Cape Fear Golden
Retriever Rescue. We serve the areas of New Hanover, Brunswick,
Pender and Onslow counties. When resources allow, we may take homeless
goldens from other areas into our program.
CFGRR is a non-profit organization run by a board of directors
and staffed by a group of dedicated volunteers. We obtained our 501(c)3
tax-exempt status shortly after we formed and incorporated.
Our mission is to provide safe and loving forever homes to Golden Retrievers in
need as well as promoting responsible pet ownership.
The Goldens we receive into our program come to us from a variety of sources
such as owners, shelters and the occasional stray. Not all of these Goldens are
in perfect health and require extra medical attention. In 2007, the average amount
spent on a rescue was $565. The adoption fees that we request only cover a
portion of our expenses. The rest of our funds are provided by donations and
by fund raising events.
Please help us in our rescue efforts by mailing a tax-deductible
contribution to: CFGRR, Inc P.O. Box 12697 Wilmington, NC 28405
or consider attending one of our many fund raising events.
